Stainless prototype - P-004
This watch was an exercise in pushing myself to expand my capabilities, and features a number of firsts for me as a watchmaker. This represents the first time I've made a "round" watch in stainless steel, the first time I've done gold tone tempered black polished hands and indices, the first time I've done a frosted silver tone dial, the first time I've made an exhibition caseback, and the first time I've used a manual wind movement in one of my pieces. This piece was also a venture into how an independent watchmaker can create sustainably; the round bar of 316L stainless that was used to machine the case from was reclaimed from a decomissioned machine in the food production industry.
in-house components include: 316L stainless steel case/bezel, 316l stainless exhibition caseback, guilloche dial, hands, indices, movement ring, stainless buckle, buckle pin, and even the delrin crystal gasket on the dial side.
